Where to go
Hannington Speke, the celebrated 19th Century Explorer wrote, "In my camp I feel the tempo, the pulse and the freedom that is Africa. To live in any other way is to lose that intimate bond between myself and nature." A mobile tented camp, set in the heart of the East African wilderness, will ensure that you are still able to experience this mystical bond with nature in the 21st Century.
Mobile tented camps have changed little since Speke's time. Large, airy canvas tents are still the accommodation of choice. Large bucket showers, filled with hot water by your tent steward, have not altered since first invented; your meals are still baked by the chefs in tin trunks. Old fashioned or not, there is little room for improvement; this is not boy-scout camping but rather sheer luxury!
Your mobile camps are set up for you by well trained, attentive staff who go out of their way to ensure your comfort is guaranteed. Your expert guides are friendly, with fonts of useful information ("No sir, that chameleon is completely harmless and will not bite you to death while you nap!"). They know the area, the animals, the plants and the insects; they ensure that you are able to experience the best each location has to offer.
"Have tent, will travel" is the motto of a mobile camp. Wherever you wish to explore, whether the Serengeti, Masai Mara, Tsavo or the Aberdare Mountains, you tented camp will follow, providing a relaxing, safe and thoroughly luxurious base for your wilderness explorations.
